I am a former teacher of the deaf, sign language interpreter, writing tutor, and a myriad of other former things. Right now, I'm just a frizzy- headed, left-handed seeker of something that I'll know when it appears. (One of my favorite quotes is from Tennyson's Ulysses: "...to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.")
I own Windmill Works Educational Products (www.windmillworks.com) and get crazy ideas (well, let's just call them creative) for the content of educational software that my husband programs. Our most recent project has been the updating of our computer game and deck of cards, Presidential Solitaire which now includes President Obama! We hope people will love to play this game online and in the card deck version so they'll order lots and lots so I can devote more time to writing!
We are also extremely proud of our Game Maker-Lite software allows parents, teacher, speech pathologists, special ed. instructors, and even kids themselves to put their own content into the classic memory game.
We have have created all kinds of trivia software games for the general population and software educational games for deaf and hard of hearing students of all ages. Trial versions are on our site under the various product pages.
In addition to Hub Pages, I also have created a few podcasts of my essay collection, "Live From Milwaukee, It's Tuesday Night," at www.podiobooks.com where anyone can subscribe quickly and easily. These are audio productions of some of my essays. (There are also great novels in audio form from other authors at that site, more essays, children's stories, etc. To hear my particular group of essays, click on "essays" and go to "Live from Milwaukee.."
Most recently I feel privileged to be able to post some of my essays at www.mypeacecity.com, a site that features activies and events connected with peace and social justice issues in the Twin Cities area.
But of all the web sites I mentioned my FAVORITE web viewing is that of my daughter's video clips on my space and funny or die. http://www.myspace.com/itsbethanydude Bethany Therese is an actor, singer, stand-up comedian, improv performer, and my kid! You might have seen her in the touring production of Mamma Mia, (see my hat?) or on an episode of The Sopranos or, if you were in LA - at one of the comedy clubs.
Thank you for having read this blurb. Wherever you are may your day be filled with all that's dearest to you. Here's to all of us as we 'strive and seek and never yield.'
Cheers,
Billie
